Oh!......................I'm back.

Oh!......................I'm back.

Well………it has been a heck of a year so far………..again!

Warmest 6 month period in recorded history in the first six months, followed by triple digit temperatures for days on end……….again. A continuation of the drought…………..so it truly will be a two year drought.... thus far.

A little while back an always upbeat friend of mine associated with agriculture came by the office and told me he was having trouble keeping his “dobber” or his “daubber” up. Now I have heard that expression before and I took it to mean something in the positive attitude line, and not something risqué.

 I know what he means.

I was surprised to find I had not “blogged” for almost 3 months and for those 2 or 3 of you, plus my mother, who may have missed it, I apologize. I really don’t think I missed any warnings for anybody. For that I would have jumped on the net for a “shout out”. I could have talked about the very good corn crop we almost had and missed by about 7 to 10 days of weather. I could have talked about the nice looking full season beans that could not set pods, or the excellent stand of full season milo with drought/heat shriveled heads, etc., etc………but we did that last year and those blogs are still in the archives.

For the despondent, every day brings trouble;
For the happy heart, life is a continual feast. Proverbs

So enough of that…….. let’s go for the continual feast. As I type there is a 50 to 60% chance of showers this weekend. Every day that goes by we are closer to breaking out of this weather cycle.

Everyone involved in agriculture is an optimist at heart…………. we have to be.

Fall is coming, it is about time to stick some seed in the ground again.

Like every O-State fan says "There's always next year".

 It will be great.
